    We are Pork’n’Cheese – The Bifana Lab.

    The name Pork’n’Cheese is a play on the word Portuguese & the Bifana is what we serve. The lab concept is all about experimenting & trying new things – like a different cuisine.

    Our menu offering is influenced by our Portuguese heritage. Everyone knows Portuguese charcoal chicken but very few know about the Bifana. The Bifana is Portugal’s national sandwich, it’s as common as a hamburger is for us here in Australia. Traditionally the Bifana consists of tender marinated pork loin, caramelised onions & yellow mustard – pretty simple but very tasty. We’ve come up with a chicken variant as well as the traditional pork Bifana. We also serve sea salted house fries & our take on salt & vinegar chips which is sea salted house fries topped with pickled vegetables (a hit with meat-eaters and vegetarians alike).

    Our menu is constantly evolving. We’ve added a Veggie Bifana for those that want a break from meat. We’ve also put together a delicious chicken thigh meal which consists of grilled smokey chicken thighs on a bed of fries drizzled with garlic aioli & a side of fresh salad. Chorizo forms part of the Portuguese DNA so we’re now serving grilled spicy chorizo on a toasted bun with aioli, spring onions & a fresh side salad. Our chorizo loaded fries are very popular – a serving of house fries topped with chopped spicy chorizo, garlic aioli & spring onions.

    No Portuguese meal would be complete without a delicious Portuguese custard tart or Portuguese doughnut.

    We also offer catering options to bring a little Portuguese flair to your next event.
